Yet another one of those crystals that has to fall into my top 3 gemstones! This incredibly mesmerising crystal is known for its ‘flash’. Often associated with intuition, transformation and spiritual awakening, no wonder it is loved by millions worldwide.
Labradorite’s Metaphysical Properties
Labradorite is a very powerful stone and can be used to reach higher realms, and truly connecting you to your spiritual awareness. Along with those magical properties it also enhances your intuition and psychic abilities, I mean who wouldn’t want that! Not to mention it does all of this whilst providing protection and transformation.
Labradorite’s Physical Properties
Labradorite belongs to the feldspar family, with the chemical composition of (Na,Ca)Al(Al,Si)Si2O8. Its flash, or technically known as the Schiller effect, is caused by the scattering of light from thin layers of second feldspar. The base colour of Lab is usually dark grey or a deep blue/black but can even come as colourless, white and transparent. It is found across many locations in the world, notably Madagascar and Labrador, Canada where it was first identified. It is a reasonably hard crystal, rating a 6-61/2 on the Mohs scale of hardness.

Caring for Your Fluorite
Labradorite is a reasonably hard crystal, rating a 6-6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, yet it can still be prone to scratches. To cleanse and recharge your Labradorite we recommend moonlight, sound cleaning, smoke cleansing and using selenite/satin spar.
